I saw this website on another site and thought it was kind of cool. It’ll be a blank (gray) slate, but click and hold down your button and watch the screen start to change. You’ll get the hang of it pretty fast. Take a look-see.
Saturday got us all really excited when Nicole asked questions about the ‘real contractions.’ Of course, I really was only able to tell her what happened with Evie since I had an epidural before the real contractions hit with Spencer (water broke early). It sounded like the same thing so we figured she was in labor. Annette and I (plus my kids) went to dinner with Coley on Saturday night to talk and hang out before she had him. Sunday morning before church I got a text on my phone that they were checked in to the hospital…yay! At 2:50, Mike and Nicole welcomed their beautiful baby boy to this world. He weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches Here are a few pics:
Baby Gavin
Doesn’t she look beautiful! And he is SO cute and sweet!
Gavin placed his hand on Nicole’s – what a sweet moment!

Evie loved her new cousin! Kept trying to take him out of my arms so she could hold him herself
Spencer is so excited about Gavin – he really wants to teach him to play soccer…until then, Spencer says Gavin can watch him play until he gets bigger.
We are so excited about this little boy joining our family and we can’t wait to see him grow up! Mike and Nicole are already such great parents and I know they’ll do great! I can’t wait to see what surprises they’re going to get! (Just make sure you don’t put your Oreo bag anywhere near him when you’re changing his diaper! He just might pee in it!) 😉 Love you guys!
I got this from my friend and sis-in-law’s blog. I thought it would be fun! I hope you will play along. Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses.
Thanks in advance for participating!
So I just love word art…I really do. It seems so many other people are extremely creative with quotes and phrases that I would just do in a simply dull text. I found this blog, mmdcreations, and just love her word art! I looked at a lot of them (and downloaded most of them!) and can just imagine what pictures I’m going to use and what page layout I’d use. I hope to create a page and put them up and let her know how great I think she is! Take a look-see.
Episodes like today (and yesterday, and the day before that) are the reason why I only want one daughter. That’s right…she’s been a PILL! Especially around nap time or bed time! She refused to take a nap today and I thought – oh good…that’ll make bed time easy. At 5 I stopped and said, “Spencer, where’s Evie? She’s being too quiet.” I found her on the couch like this:
She just crashed! Luckily she only slept for 1 hour. But then the attitude came back out. She cried and she screamed. I tried to give her a cheese stick, her milk, a candy… I put a princess movie in, I tried playing with her…NOTHING! She just kept at it. Finally daddy came home and that distracted her for a little bit…then she screamed and cried when I tried giving her dinner AND ice cream! She screamed at me when I brought her out of our neighbor’s house! She just SCREAMED (and mind you…it’s the loud, high pitched “I’m so mad and I want you to know it” scream!) Steve and I were figuring out a program on the computer and she started going through our stuff. Steve told her ‘no – those aren’t yours. Put them back’ and she screamed some more! Look how tragic her little life is? She stood there with her arms stretched out, reaching for something she couldn’t (and shouldn’t!) have. Can you guess what it was?
Condoms!
bam! It suddenly hit me…I really do have a little girl. Not just a girl that hurts her brother, messes with daddy’s laptop or getting into everything. I have a G-I-R-L! She lets me do her hair (although she usually pulls it out), she’s starting to love dress up clothes and her new favorite thing… “Printah” (princess). She LOVES pricesses! I’m kind of excited that she likes them, although I’m sure Steve won’t be too excited to see more pink and more princess stuff around the house. Oh well…he’ll have to get used to it I guess. 🙂
I know, I’m shocked too. I actually woke up early enough to go to the hot air balloon festival thing on the 4th. I woke up at 530 and got to the h.a.b. thing by 630. We went with our friends Anthony & Christy Miller and their sons Derrick and Sean. Spencer and Evie really liked looking around and pointing at the fun balloons.
We were right next to a blue balloon and every time they pulled
the string for the fire, we felt a heat wave.
Once they got in the air, we had a great time seeing where they
all headed. Our favorite to find was the pig.
Sean and his daddy sharing a sweet moment…I just thought
it was so sweet.

By the way, Steve stayed in bed! 😉
We had a good time at the Stadium of Fire. Glenn Beck was awesome…and of course, made me cry. He always seems to do that. The presentation of the soldiers over seas also made me cry – it’s always great to see them in high spirits even though they go through more than we’ll ever know. The Blue Man Group was VERY entertaining…I never knew pipes could make such great instruments! And, other than the high pitch shrills of the girls in the stadium, Miley Syrus wasn’t half bad. She had one song that I knew from the radio, and another 2 that I enjoyed the music/words of. The fireworks were very pretty and I really enjoyed spending time with my family. Here are a few pics:

The rest of the gang
During the Stadium of Fire dancers, a big sheet of white
came over our heads. It was a lot of fun but we didn’t get to
hear what Glenn Beck was saying. 🙁
Evie and Spencer didn’t seem too worried about the sheet over
our heads.
The soldiers brought out a HUGE flag.
I think there were about 1350 kids out there as Stadium of
Fire dancers. Holy Cow!
Spencer enjoyed the show
Evie wasn’t always impressed.
Evie loves her daddy…so do I! Also, look how cute
her hair is!
For some odd reason, Evie kept pulling my arms around her
in such a weird way. If I tried dropping my arms, she’d pull
them right back in. What an odd child.
My “Reverent Child” – always finds odd times to
fold her arms.
So…the fireworks….yeah, Evie was nervous.
She enjoyed it better when I covered her ears.
She warmed up eventually. She’d say “See mommy! See Daddy!”
and pointed at the fireworks.
Not the best picture but hey, it works.
Here are pics of Mike’s ankle (see I Had A Rough Day ~ Spencer) after playing volleyball with me. Like how swollen and pretty colored it is? 🙂
