Hey everyone! Just in case you were wondering, my MIL (Mother-in-Law) had her surgery today. We went up to visit (hospital is in Sandy) and made it to American Fork and Alec (FIL) called to tell us she was still groggy and wasn’t ready for company. That’s probably for the best so the little kids wouldn’t think Grandma wasn’t paying attention to them or something! From what we hear she is doing well, the surgery went well, and she is still pretty drugged up. They will get her walking tomorrow morning and I guess they said the more walking she does, the fast she’ll get home. They told her she’d have to stay there for a week to recover. Prayers are definitely welcomed so please remember her in your prayers. Thanks everyone!
I found this website through Tip Junkie’s blog… She has a nice step-by-step on getting yourself motivated and organized to a ’31 Days to Clean.’ Take a gander…
Dea Spina put out a Volunteer Creative Team member call (first come-first serve) and I was the first to respond! Dea allowed me to use her kit LikeNoOther in exchange for my layout(s) that she could use in her emails, blog, etc. I had so much fun doing this and can’t wait for another opportunity to try again! Thanks Dea!
So, as most of you know, I LOVE digital scrapbooking! I have about 36 GIGS of digi scrap stuff. I am so appreciative to those who create wonderful elements (papers, embellishments, etc) for others to buy and use. Most of the designers will give away a small part of a kit (a.k.a. “freebie”). I subscribe to lots of designers’ blogs to keep up on all the great things they have and are selling or giving away but for those blogs that I’m not subscribed to, the Ikea Goddess finds them for me!
She does a daily compilation of the freebies she finds and gives you a thumbnail and website to find them on. Thank you Ikea Goddess!
Last Saturday we went down to Annette and Joel’s for dinner and a family hike. We ate first and decided we had at least an hour’s (plus or minus) worth of sun light left so we headed up Maplewood…Maplecreek… a canyon in Mapleton. My camera’s batteries were dying so I only got a few pictures (none of me or Steve…I think we were the only ones not in the pictures).

Don’t you just love the look Lauren’s giving her?

do you see how shiny Netty’s bum is? It has a double glare on it!
Spencer is doing a FANTASTIC job and we are seriously cheering for him every time he goes potty by himself! He always tells me “I do it by myself!” just like Reid did (thanks again Reid!…and Leona!) Here’s his new potty chart:
I’m really, REALLY glad Spencer is doing so well…we went to Walmart today since we #1) had no diapers; #2) had no pull-ups; and #3) he was wearing the only clean pair of underwear!!!! As soon as we got to the store, Spencer told me he had to use the potty. We ran inside, he went potty, washed his hands and off we go! We get back to the pull-ups and he tells me he needs to go again. I grab the pull-ups, we run to the front of the store (which Shana later informs me that there’s a bathroom in the back!!!!), pay for our items, get home and WHAT?!?!?!? I bought PULL-UPS for EVIE TOO!?!?!? Oops. Looks like we might be going back to the store tomorrow for diapers. Luckily, Spencer is a great example to Evie like Reid was to Spencer. Here’s Evie’s potty chart:
Yep, that’s right! Evie says, “Pah-ee” and runs into the bathroom. We pull down her Pull-Ups, she does her business, wipes, flushes, washes her hands and Wah-la! Evie gets a star on her chart too! Wouldn’t that just ROCK to have BOTH kids using the big/little potty!?!?!?!? I would SO love it!
