Yep…that’s right…less than 2 months left…yikes, 2 months seems so much longer than 8 weeks! let’s stick to the weeks, shall we? (I’ll still include it for you though mom!)

I feel like this baby is going to be a big baby, and that scares me! I’m quite uncomfortable, mostly because my tummy is big enough that the pants and capris I have roll down below my belly and ends up being super tight…and honestly I don’t want to go get new pants, especially with 8 weeks or less left! Now the pelvic pain is mostly gone…usually just when I’m in bed rolling from one side to the other, but now I’m enjoying (psh!) the experience of restless leg. Not cool either! My sis-in-law pointed out that I’m now getting to experience a little of what some women experience when they’re pregnant (since I’ve been very lucky with my first two)…so, here’s to you women who do have to experience this and worse! You’re stronger than I am and I’m a little whiner!

Here’s what BabyCenter says about week 32:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You’re gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he’ll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth.

By the way, what the heck is a jicama?

She won!

No, not Evie…my best friend, Leona, finally won! She beat me on having child #3 before I did! LOL

Since we met 6+ years ago, we’ve done a lot together…one of which was we always ended up pregnant at the same time. She found out with #1 before I did…but I ended up being farther along and gave birth first. Child #2 she was due before me (by a month or more) and then Evie decided to come 6 1/2 weeks early so I gave birth on child #2 too. This time Leona had it in the bag! She was pregnant before me by quite a bit, and I haven’t had a premie (yet?), and Leona had child #3 last Saturday!!!

We’re in a Boutique

Mom – be proud…we FINALLY did something with that crazy idea of selling our stuff. Annette saw this cute boutique on Main Street in Springville (Shaybees) and met the owners. They are so fun and sassy – my kind of people! We took a few samples of the necklace boards, earring holders, binkie clips, etc to show them and they took them on the spot. 🙂 Another lady was already doing the binkie clips but since she does not have children, she doesn’t really care to make them anymore – so now we are! LOL! We showed her (and told her) a few of the other ideas we had and she’s loving it! Some are digital creations we need to print, some are physical creations we need to make more of…but either way, we’re finally trying to sell some of our crafty stuff that we love to do so much! Aren’t you proud?

We are still planning on getting Etsy up and running but life gets crazy so we haven’t started yet. But we will…oh yes…we will. 🙂

Oh, and look at our cute little logo – we need to do the legal stuff….business license, etc…but for now, that’s all we have.

Being Prepared
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 06 11th, 2010| icon33 Comments »

So lately I’ve had this feeling to make sure my little kiddos know what to do in an emergency…from dialing 911 on a cell phone (especially one like an Android), knowing our address, earthquakes, fires, floods, storms (they think of tornadoes any time it’s windy out), etc. I’ve been looking online on ways to teach children and was even hoping to find some workbook-type pages to go through with them but so far there’s nothing. I might have to design my own. There’s a website I really like – she’s very organized and helpful and although I haven’t implemented anything yet, I’m loving a lot of her ideas on how to prepare. You should jump over there too…

Plus, food storage has been on our minds a lot lately too…having non-perishables that we can eat in case something happens, whether an emergency or even just being short on funds, as well as a grab and go backpack for each of us with necessities inside. Plus a place to store all of it! I’m not sure if we’re finally taking time to act on the things we heard from General Conference or if I’m feeling anxious with this baby coming in the next 2 months that I really want to have everything in place and ready with no big surprises that could get in the way. Either way, we know we need to get ready so I’ll take whatever the reason is and run with it!

Any suggestions would be great!

Again, only if he’s healthy is he allowed to come 2 weeks early! But I sure hope he’s going to be healthy enough for it! LOL I’ve noticed more and more how much this little guy dances around when music is playing, whether on my phone, on the radio or just on the tv/movie playing in the background. My pelvic pain is lessening, but it’s still very noticeable. Especially if I walk to much. Which probably means no zoo trip before the baby comes. 🙁 Drats!

Here’s what Babycenter says about 31 weeks…

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He’s probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby’s kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Not much has happened with the house since last week…but today I am working on cleaning downstairs. I have TONS of laundry to fold/hang and put away. The kids are starting to clean up their toys…starting is the key word. Plus I’m planning on emptying out the remainder of the office downstairs so we can clean the carpets and move the kids down there. With only single digits in weeks left I’m really getting anxious to finish organizing. I also have to take KitKat back to the vet today. I didn’t get him in for his follow up since Steve and I were gone for our Anniversary weekend, and then last week was crazy busy so today is the day. Let’s hope he’ll be okay and cooperate with the vet.

here’s the first full filled out page that I’ve done…I’m almost done with pages 2 and 3 but I’m trying to come up with more side dishes. 🙂 I’m not very creative!!!

Jun 6

So I saw this on another website (Craftzine) and LOOOOOOOVED the idea!

My sister, Annette, loves it too. I’m making mine a little different…including side dishes as separate magnets. My sister likes the same sides with every meal so her magnets will probably include the main dish boldly stated and then the side dishes listed below. I never know what sides we have in the house, let alone what we should have, so Steve came up with having them separately. I’ll upload my printable dishes when I’m done, just to show you how it turned out. I’m SO excited! Hopefully this will help ME be a better homemaker/cook…hopefully! 🙂

Yay…30 weeks! The end is getting nearer…which also means interrupted sleep in getting nearer. But I’m getting excited. I really want to get more things organized and we’re actually getting closer to switching rooms (kids into office, nursery into kids room). Steve, Spencer and Evie have finally all felt the baby move – usually when Steve puts his hand on the belly the baby stops moving – but he was able to feel him. 🙂

So, here’s the update of the 30 week baby growing in my tummy:

Your baby’s about 15.7 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after he’s born, he’ll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he’ll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Hair cuts
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 06 1st, 2010| icon32 Comments »

So I’ve been dying to get Spencer’s hair cut lately but just have not had any time to do it. Now that preschool is done, the baby shower is done, school is out (for nieces and nephew), and our anniversary weekend is over I felt like today was a good day to do it. SO, before I went into work (to review surveillance video), I met up with Annette at a hair salon to get Spencer AND Evie AND Annette’s hair cut. Spencer went first and then Evie (and Annette had a different girl doing hers at the same time). I love that this lady actually made his hair do the whole spikey look and not just one length on the top….

And then it was Evie’s turn. I asked her how short she wanted it and she used her fingers to show me about 2 inches off of her head. I. THINK. NOT! I told her it had to be longer than her shoulders so she decided to her shoulders would work…then we asked for a little longer just for my benefit! She did great and her hair looks so healthy and cute! It’s sad this is her first hair cut…even a trim…and that her 3 1/2 year old hair was looking really damaged and dry on the ends. I just never wanted to lose what hair she had since it took that long to grow it out!!! But I should have gotten it trimmed a long time ago. She loves it. I love it. It looks so cute!

I did not get pictures of Annette’s ‘after’ hair so maybe I’ll have to snap a few when I get back to her house!

May 26

I have 11 weeks left – hopefully only 9 weeks (that means he’s within that 2 weeks early/late window that doctors like to have and that he’d still be able to come home if he is healthy enough). Wow…that’s crazy…to think I could have single digits of weeks left until this little guy is here with us! Whoa…we’d better get a move on and get the house ready!

Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you’ll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby’s hardening skeleton each day.

Steve and I are *almost done cleaning out the office. Next we’ll use a carpet cleaner to make sure it’s nice and clean before we move the kiddos downstairs. They are really excited to be switching rooms. It’s a little smaller than the room they have now but hopefully since their toys and such are all downstairs already it won’t be a big difference.

We also moved the computer desk upstairs in our front room (well, the corner where the stairs, front room and kitchen meet). So far I’m liking it. We can always put it in our room or do what we were originally thinking and put the office and the nursery stuff in the same room…not sure how that would work once we had a crawler/climber but we’ll see what happens!

I’ve finally gotten around to putting more pictures up around the house and taking down the prints that come with the frames! LOL No more bears on my wall! We’ve decided to wait on getting new couches until we stock up on more food storage. We’ve really been wanting to feel more ‘prepared’ lately…food storage, killing debt as fast as possible, legal paperwork, etc. We are planning to move the small couch from downstairs to our upstairs front room and then just have the long couch and rocking chair downstairs. One day I’ll get those couches replaced…they are SO not my style! BUT, I will be glad to have a couch upstairs again…gives me another spot to read instead of my bed or the rocking chair. I’m also getting little projects done that I’ve been putting off…like putting my piano music in sheet protectors.

I’m trying to take it easy since I’ve already had a preemie and that’s what the Dr said is the only criteria to have another one. I’ve also been experiencing pelvic pain that I didn’t experience with my other two kids. I haven’t asked the doctor yet wether or not I need to worry about it, but I did look online and read about it…it is common during pregnancy when the body is preparing itself for labor/birth…I’m just hoping it doesn’t mean it’s preparing for the next few weeks!

Ok…that’s probably long enough. 🙂
