Boxes

Everything about our lives right now revolves around boxes. Big ones….small ones…some as big as your head! 🙂

We have our box wall…nearest the door to help all of those who are helping us move. We also had a box that was too big for packing anything in that became a toy house….

I threw that one in with my kids and their cousin Gavin (I stole it from your blog mikie and coley) cause it’s so darn cute. They were watching Tom and Jerry.

Wow. I’m impressed! A commercial came on TV advertising for a coffee drink.

Spencer says, “We don’t drink coffee.”

I asked, “Where did you learn that?” (I didn’t remember talking about coffee to him)

Spencer says, “At daddy’s work. Me and Evie were getting chocolate milk. The coffee was next to the chocolate milk.”

I said, “Wow. I’m impressed!”

Spencer said, “I know!” and gives daddy a high five.

He remembers that from HALLOWEEN last year. It wasn’t anything big…just a comment we made how we do not drink coffee. Just makes me realize how little things can stick in a child’s mind…hopefully all the important things and none of the things we regret saying or shouldn’t say especially in front of little ears.

I get the top bunk…

So Grandpa Shaw is so great to us – I asked for his help getting the kids beds into bunk beds. He not only fixed the bottom of Spencer’s bed (since Spencer jumped on it and broke the boards), but he also cut the dowels and helped me put the bunk together AND built a ladder for the kids to use to climb up and down. Spencer had a blast helping Grandpa fix and make things.

And while Grandpa was busy working on the bunk beds, Grandma was doing my dishes! Now THAT’S a tough (and stinky) job! Thank you both so much! The kids still love their bunk beds and talk about you two making them and letting Spencer stay the night.

My friend, Kellie, posted about this on her site – Amazon.com has 150 kids songs for sale for $0.99 (3 CDs worth). You’ll have to download the Amazon MP3 Downloader, but that’s not too bad seeing how it’s free. Anyway, if you’re interested, click HERE.

K…so this morning I was taking Spencer and Evie to my sister’s house (I had to work) this is the conversation I had with Spencer:

Spencer: “My friends died.”

Mom: “What friends? I don’t remember any of your friends dying.”

Spencer: “Yeah…Collin with the crazy hair died.”

Mom: “No, he didn’t die, he just moved far, far away.”

Spencer: “Okay. So he didn’t die. When will I play with him again?”

So in loving memory of you, Collin, I’m putting up a recent picture to show Spencer (Thanks Katie…I stole it from Facebook!)

Preschool Registration

today was preschool registration at the elementary school nearby. While I was filling out paperwork, Spencer went with Mrs Max (or to us, Sis Max) to the pre-K classroom. After I was done I went to the Pre-K room to find Spencer. While the other kids colored, Spencer walked around the room to explore. He asked (the right way) “May I please have a cookie?” (yay!) He then asked if I could have one. We then walked around the room looking at blocks, the puppet theater, pointing out the letter “S” and talking about everything he saw. He asked me “Why did you get done so fast?” and “Why couldn’t I stay longer?” SO CUTE! And, as you’ll notice in the picture, he COULDN’T go to school without his backpack!

This is Mrs (Sis) Max. It’s a super small picture and if I made it any larger it’d be blurry. She’s so nice and so great with kids! I really hope Spencer will get to be in her class!

Big Boy!

I am SO proud of Spencer! He was assigned to say the scripture and prayer today in Primary. We  practiced the scripture all week and I explained to him that while he was standing at the front talking into the microphone, all of his friends would be in their chairs. I wanted to make sure he wouldn’t be frightened when it was his turn. He stood on the stool, I whispered in his ear, and he repeated the scripture and prayer like a big boy! I really didn’t think he’d be brave enough to do it but he was! We are so proud of him! Grandma and Grandpa Shaw came and watched him. He was so excited they were able to come and see him!

Long time gone

So i feel like it’s been ages since I last posted…and boy do I have tons of stuff to post! We’ll start with a few pics of my kids and their cute clothes. This was my first attempt at railroad pics, and although I knew it was still too early in the day, I did it anyway since naps were bound to happen. They only looked at the camera a few times so not many of them smiling…but hey, that’s life. 🙂

K – so I love some really recent pictures that I just had to share. Doesn’t Evie look like the future Mrs. President?

What a Girl!

So Evie is really silly. She is doing WONDERFUL at potty training (her big brother decided he no longer wanted to wear big boy underwear so that’s 2 in pull-ups) and loves clapping, kisses, etc, for a job well done. Well, twice now she has given me (or my neighbor, Shana) quite the surprise – NO PULL-UP on that bare bottom of hers! She had one on, or so I thought, before I took her downstairs but didn’t have one the first time she asked to ‘go potty in the bafroom’. She did the same thing to me once when we left for the store…she had one on before we left, and after spending the whole time in the basket, we came home and it was gone! Her dress was completely dry so I think she stayed dry but still…What does she keep doing with them?!?!?

Also, my dear sweet daughter found her nipples. Ha!
