We went to the Vinyard PumpkinLand with some of our friends. After going through the corn maze, seeing the farm animals, playing on the playground and going through a light maze we stopped at the pumpkins to take a few pictures and pick out a few to take home. My kids are cute so I had to post pictures!

Pumpkinland - Spencer

Pumpkinland - Evie

Oct 13

Height: 28 1/2 inches (25%)

Weight: 20 lbs 2.5 oz. (30%)

Head: 45 cm (50%)

Evie is STILL anemic. I didn’t do very well giving her the iron supplement mixed with fluoride from her last visit. 🙁 I have a new supplement I need to give her 3x daily or else at her 15 month appointment they’ll have to take blood from her arm again (that was not a fun experience!)

She’s healthy other than that though!

Here are some recent things Spencer has said that just make me laugh:

To Evie: “You’re buggin’ me crazy” (I think she was following him from room to room)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mommy: “Do you want a cheese stick?”
Spencer: “Sure Sure” (he gets that from his Grandma and Grandpa)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Spencer: “I want that.” (a toy on a commercial)

Mommy: “Maybe…we’ll have to ask Santa to get it for you for Christmas.”

{later}

Spencer: “Get that for Halloween?”

Mommy: “Not for Halloween…but maybe we’ll ask Santa for Christmas.”

Evie is acting like she’s a walking pro now. She saw Mr Potato Head across the room and decided she wanted to walk to it. She took 5 steps and laughed the whole time – I think she knew she was doing something grand! Well, since then she has tried walking more and more. She is getting so good! Here’s a few pics:

During the BYU football home games, they show a video of Cosmo against some bad men…each to be continued at the next home game. Spencer, who is very much into roll playing with whatever he can find (right now, it’s colored pencils…weird, I know). I’m just laughing to myself because he’s talking about a game, a big kick, Cosmo, and then the noises of an action-packed fight. When some of the colored pencils fly off of the couch (Evie is asleep so no worries there), I can only assume the bad guys are getting their butts kicked. I’m trying so hard not to laugh too loudly…but it’s hard not to.

Yesterday Evie took 3 steps while she was hanging out with daddy at Chris and Julie’s apartment. In Relief Society today she took 4 steps! Not too much longer!

Well, even if the game had some bad footwork, Evie had a good one. She took her FIRST STEP! Aunt Netty, Aunt Coley, Uncle Mikey and Mommy (me) saw it (daddy was out getting dinner). Hopefully she’ll realize how fun it is to walk and do it again!

During the BYU football game tonight we had to watch what we were saying…not because it was THAT bad of a game (although we could do better) but because Spencer repeats what we say a lot. Steve said “suck” once and Spencer repeated. So, Aunt Netty decided to use “stinky” instead. BYU knocked a Tulsa player out of bounds and Spencer said, “Mommy – they pooped.” I said, “Are they stinky?” Spencer said, “Yeah.” Aunt Netty said, “Okay – Maybe I won’t say ‘stinky’ anymore.” After that Spencer and Lukie said “stinky” over and over again. Made me laugh so hard I teared up. TOO FUNNY!

This last weekend was the Utah Open Source Conference that Steve was helping with. I also helped out creating flyers (and one became the t-shirt design). Steve helped set up for the event and got home pretty late…usually after 1 or 2 a.m. I have wonderful family who offered their help so I could volunteer at the Conference too. Spencer spent 2 1/2 days at Grandma and Grandpa’s. They found this awesome firetruck with moving ladder, flashing lights and sirens. It’s seriously about 3 feet long! He had so much fun! I just hope Grandma and Grandpa did too! Chris and Julie watched Evie on Thursday night. They came over around 4:15-ish and stayed until 9:30 or 10:00 (I can’t remember when I got home). Evie loves Chris and Julie! On Friday I took Evie to Annette’s around 8:30 (after dropping Steve off at the Conference so he didn’t fall asleep driving). She had so much fun playing with Evan and Luke. She got lots of kisses from Aunt Netty and Lukie…mostly Lukie. They sure love each other! I called to check on Annette a few times and she assured me Evie was behaving for her. I think I picked her up around 6:30…mainly because I was hurting from not feeding her all day! I went back with Evie to get Steve but the shirts I designed finally came so I helped out a little. Saturday morning I dropped Evie off at Mike and Nicole’s around 7:45. I went to my Geology class because I had a feeling he was going to quiz us…and he did. I left as soon as the quiz was over. Around 1:15-ish I went to Mike and Nicole’s to feed Evie and she fell asleep (for 2 1/2 hours!). Nicole told me that she let Mike sleep in but Evie was giggling so much that she woke him up. Luckily it’s not a bad sound to wake up to…or at least it’s better than her crying. The BYU game was on tv so Annette and Lukie went over to Mike and Nicole’s.  I knew Evie would be occupied with Lukie so I figured she was fine. After  the conference we had a “post-mordem”  meeting and then cleaned up so we picked up Evie around 10:45 and Spencer around 11:15.  We are so lucky to have family so close by who are willing to help when we need it!
