33 Weeks (7 weeks left…but maybe less?)

I’ve decided I cannot go by how many weeks I have left at all…I was measuring a week early last week, so most likely I’m measuring at 34 weeks this week…which would give me 6 weeks left! But with the pre-term labor I had with Evie, that could even cut the 6 weeks down in half, or less – who knows! He’s still bouncing around in there and sometimes he ‘elbows’ me (I think it’s his elbow) hard enough that it hurts a little….little stinker! Here’s what BabyCenter has to say about week 33…even though that was probably last week!

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He’s rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren’t fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don’t entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Well, here’s hoping that the pineapple will stay in for another few weeks and keep cooking – I’m mainly hoping that whenever he decides to come he’ll be far enough developed that he will not have any problems…at least any serious problems. It’s crazy how fast this part of the pregnancy feels and how quickly the end is nearing.

Oh, I have my next appointment with my Doc tomorrow – I’ll update this tomorrow!
