Lil g got his first taste of a sucker….and he loved it!
First time swinging….he loves swinging!
Hallelujah we are DONE! Well, not completely true actually…we will have another check up in 3 weeks…but the bones are healed and the cast is off!
The weirdest thing ever…the cast caused Spencer’s leg hairs to grow…my 6 year old has long black leg hairs!!!! WOW…that’s weird. Poor kid has dry skin too.
I marked the current (left) x-ray and the x-ray from 2 weeks ago (right). It’s amazing how fast bones grow back!
Dr McLean is awesome! She works so well with kids and Spencer likes her. She always challenges him to a “don’t smile” contest…and he loses every time!
Spencer is 6!!! I can’t believe it! It seems like it was just the other day when I woke during the night to my water breaking and 7 hours later was holding my first baby in my arms. What a huge difference 6 years makes…and wow…what things we have learned! Spencer had an Outer Space birthday party. He invited 4 friends from school and some cousins. They made space pictures, aliens, shot aliens and did a galaxy toss. My friend, Jaycee, made Spencer’s cake…OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Can you believe how cute it is?! Look at that astronaut! So.Stinkin.Cute!
My sister and her family left to go to Disneyland and asked if I would take care of their pets for them. While they were out, I got to labeling! 🙂 Here are a few before and after pictures (PLEASE NOTE: the BEFORE pictures are after I started pulling things from the shelf so it wasn’t THAT bad…just remember that!)

Grams and Papa came to visit for 2 weeks!!!! We love it when they come! Evan turned 8 and was getting baptized. I wish I had taken more pictures, but one day I will get copies from my sister and sis-in-law to see what they took pictures of. Here are a few (bunches) of pictures in no particular order:

My friend (Triana Ord) is helping another blogger friend take pictures of her products to sell on Etsy. Triana needed a few models and she asked if Lil g would be available. I LOVE the onesie he “modeled”…it is SO cute! And the pictures are now on her site…take a look! Lu Bird Baby
Today Spencer went in for a “cast removal” appointment. They sawed the cast off but pulling his leg out was still somewhat painful for him. We explained to him that his knee has been bent for so long that it will probably hurt to straighten it and he did not like the thought of that…especially when he knew he was getting another x-ray. Little g got hungry so I was feeding him when they came in to get Spencer for his x-ray. Luckily, Spencer’s Grams was with us. She went with him to get his x-ray (a good bonding moment!). Lil g got done and I could hear Spencer crying (they made him straighten his leg for the x-ray and it hurt). When the door opened, Grams took Lil g and I carried Spencer back to the room. The break is almost healed completely (just a little left in the back)!!!!!
Dr M put a little pressure on his leg and he was in pain so, for his sake, she put another cast on (he chose tie-die this time) with the instructions to have him put pressure on his leg (and use crutches). She said at the point his leg is, the pressure will actually help the leg heal faster and gain some strength back and hopefully help the pain when this cast is removed. Since Dr M said to do it, he said he’d do the crutches. He has tried them (just a tiny bit) before and hopefully he’ll be able to really get the hang of it. If anything, he can use it to get into his classroom and/or to the main locations he’ll be going, and then he can scoot a little here and there when it’s short distance or when his arms get tired. I just hope he doesn’t lose balance and fall over!
Dr M again challenged him to a “try-not-to-smile” contest….he lost again. 🙂
He was extremely happy though…I let him use his birthday money. He bought Lego Star Wars building kits … and picked the ones with the bad guys! (aren’t you proud Steph?)
