So Steve said I’m just a regular pregnant woman now…nearly to my due date, soreness, kankles and now swollen/water retaining feet. They are UG-LY! Seriously ugly! Or is it Ug-lay? Either way – they’re nasty. IF you want to see, here they are:

(I bent my feet in the second picture. You can’t really tell though, can you? Sick…absolutely sick)

We Are Men

It’s not a surprise to me…I’m not shocked by it…in fact, I’ve known it for 7+ years…but the other day as I was watching my husband read the scriptures and then say his personal prayers, I had an ‘aha’ moment.

I married an honest to goodness, deep down to the core, super duper, can’t say enough fantastic things about him, really REALLY great guy. I’m super lucky and you should be envious!

And then he posted this on his blog and I’m reminded, yet again, what an amazing man I have. Stephen is already a great example of what this video portrays – sacrificing so much to take care of us, helping us stay comfortable, and being such a strength and great example to me and my kids. I truly am lucky. Our marriage is wonderful, our friendship is strong, our love is stronger, and this is only the first 7 years.

I. Am. Truly. Blessed.

38 weeks…oh goodie
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 07 28th, 2010| icon3No Comments »

yep…so true…I’m at 38 weeks. Considered full term. Only 1 1/2 weeks until I get induced! BUT I still REALLY hope I go before then. PLEASE BABY!!!  Not a lot has changed since last week…at least with how I’m feeling…but I’m hoping my appointment tomorrow will show that I’m dilated more. That would rock. This baby is headed for  an 8 lb 8 oz birth (from what the projected weight was from the last ultrasound) and I think it’d be great if he wasn’t that big! LOL

Here’s what BabyCenter says about this week…I decided to use a different picture instead of the fruit versus the quarter picture. I always wonder how the baby is situated, especially this late in the game, so I figured I’d use a picture showing that. 🙂

Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he’s over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.

Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If he’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time she’s 9 months old. That’s because a child’s irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after he’s born, but they usually won’t get “lighter” or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Kindergarten jumpstart
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 07 27th, 2010| icon3No Comments »

Yesterday was spencer’s first day at kindergarten jumpstart…a program his school started to help the little kids get use to the school, teachers, schedule and classmates.

Before I dropped him off I explained that a lot of it will be like preschool but more kids and a few other things, but mostly the same. I even asked him if he’d tell me if there was a cute girl in his class. Lol

Spencer was a little shy when I first took him in, but he found some building blocks and started playing with some of the other boys. I gave him high-5 and he was content with being there. His teacher, Miss Provstgaard, is super nice. She just graduated last May so I’m hoping she’ll have great ideas and be very helpful for the students.

After I picked him up and asked how it was, he was very excited to tell me all about it. The FIRST thing he told me about was the one girl he thought was cute in his class. Lol he didn’t know her name but there was another girl who was all dressed in pink. What a funny kid.

He told me about the first time they went to the tables, he wasn’t fast enough to sit with the boys so he had to sit with the girls. The second time he made it to the boys table. Lol they even played on the playground and had snacks. He really enjoyed it!

Later he told his grandma that he wanted the day to be over so he could go back. Funny funny kid.

to design! 🙂 I’ve been figuring out new little tips and tricks here and there in Photoshop (I’m self taught with all Adobe stuff so far…still have tons to learn!) and decided to use some of that to make a new digital kit…ROBOTS! Don’t know why I wanted to do Robots, but I did and can I tell you how much I love these little guys? Even the alpha made me super happy. Not as much the paper cause I didn’t feel very creative with those, but they’re done and in the kit so I’ll just get over it. Maybe one day I’ll add some more if I feel up to it. Anyway, here’s the kit preview…I seriously love these guys! Click for a closer look!

37 Week Dr Appointment
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 07 22nd, 2010| icon31 Comment »

This morning we had our 37 week check up. My blood pressure was higher than normal but not enough to worry Dr Young. He checked me an I’m dilated to a 1…which is good, but it would be great if that increased quickly over the next few days. So…not much to report. But at least I’m at a 1. 🙂

It’s true…I’m trying to be less whiny about still being pregnant…and I’ve been this pregnant with Spencer…in fact, I’d have a week left if I was comparing it to Spencer’s pregnancy. So, I know I’ll be fine…but I’m still “done” being pregnant. And, to top it all off, he doesn’t move as much as he was a few weeks ago…I know they say they’re so crammed in there that there’s not much room to move, but it still gets me worried when I try to provoke him and it takes a while to get him to move. Not even chocolate gives him a sugar rush anymore. I’m sure things are fine, but it’s been nearly 5 1/2 years since I’ve made it this far along in a pregnancy and I forgot about how things were.

Here’s what’s going on at 37 weeks:

Your baby is now considered “full term,” even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though.)

Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don’t be surprised if your baby’s hair isn’t the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

So, I still wouldn’t mind if he came soon…today even…but we’ll see!

He’s baaaaaaaack
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 Uncategorized | icon4 07 20th, 2010| icon3No Comments »

Last night after steve and I finished watching a movie downstairs I was in the kitchen getting my water…steve said “look who missed us” and I saw the black tail…of kitkat. A few things went through my head like ‘that can’t be kitkat’ and ‘so what? He’s back for the night.’…forgetting we gave him away last Thursday. Well, he was starving for food and affection so we guessed he either escaped or was let out by Friday or Saturday and had found his way back home. He was SO happy to be home!

And me being the impatient one had already given all of our cat things away. 🙁 so steve and I took a trip to the store at midnight, grabbed a cheap litter box, litter and some cat food and headed home to our new-again cat. Lol it’s kind of bitter sweet actually.

He was behaving so well when we gave him away and we missed the black beast…and now he’s home again. Not sure what we’ll do though…

Okay…time to try my cousin’s suggestion…here’s my List

HAVE BABY

Please oh please let him come! Today would be fantastic too…I’m kid-free tonight so that would work out just wonderfully! Seriously! That’s the only thing on my list that I want to get done today (or tomorrow if I have to…like 1 am tomorrow…no later than that!)

Now Heidi, let’s see if it works!
