Easter pics

So, these are NOT the best pictures – especially since there are computers and wires behind both of the kids. Oh well. Also some pics of the kids dying Easter Eggs. I’m really not good when it comes to holidays and keeping up traditions, but hopefully I’ll get better.

April 10, 2010 – We were able to attend JoJo’s (Joel) baptism. He started going to seminary and then took the missionary discussions.  We were so excited when he wanted to be baptized and wanted to be there to be a part of it. Here are a few pictures from before the baptism.

25 Weeks

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn’t much more than an average rutabaga, but he’s beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he’ll start to look more and more like a newborn. He’s also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you’d now be able to discern its color and texture.

So I’m thinking boys like to make me really awkward. This baby, like Spencer, likes my right side. Even my sister noticed that he was sitting weird. Steve even made a comment about how weird it would be if this boy looked just like him, just like Spencer. I’m kind of hoping for a hybrid child just so we can see what one would look like…but then again I think my hubby is oh so cute so I wouldn’t mind another mini-Steve. Yesterday I think I experience my first (even with the other two pregnancies) time getting kicked/hit in the bladder over and over again. What an odd feeling. Seriously. I don’t even know how to describe this tingly feeling that shoots every time it got hit…just weird.

So I’m not sure if this will automatically change on its own or not, but I figured I could try. Either way, here’s where we are:

24 weeks – pictures!

So I’m feeling much bigger than I was at this time with S and E, but that’s expected, right? Anyway, so I can document it, here’s what I look like around 24 weeks:

After taking these via webcam from work, I realized angling your body instead of a 90* angle of the belly, makes you look slim and not so plump!!! LOL Got to remember that for the future!

Some Jersey Humor

My Mother In Law sent this in an email and I laughed. True, I’m not a Jersey wife, but it was funny none the less. ENJOY!

JERSEY WIVES

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties. The first man had married a woman from Illinois and had told her that she was going to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of day’s, but on the third day he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man had married a woman from Michigan. He had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. The first day he didn’t see any results but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married a beautiful girl from New Jersey. He told her that her duties were to keep the house clean, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn’t see anything, the second day he didn’t see anything, but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye enough to fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.

For those of you who read about Evie wanting bigger boobies, this picture will make you laugh – actually you’ll laugh anyway. It’s one of my favorite pictures of Evie when she was little.

24 weeks

So I’m at 24 weeks today. I go in tomorrow for another ultrasound (last time they didn’t get a clear shot of the 4 chambers of the heart) and then have my check up. I’m REALLY hoping I’m measuring a week under – cause I’m feeling big! LOL I know I’m on my 3rd kid and women gain the weight faster with every kid they have, but it doesn’t mean I couldn’t wish I was smaller! LOL (Especially when you see my friend, Leona, who only has 2 months left and I’m already bigger than her! Brat) 😉 I keep waiting for my sister to sing “Here we go a waddling along the streets of green” to me like I used to do to her when she was pregnant – I’m a waddling too. LOL Welp, here’s the info on week 24:

Your baby’s growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he’s almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he’ll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing “branches” of the respiratory “tree” as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Week 23

so I feel big. really big. too big too fast…(wait, didn’t I complain about this last week too?) Our bouncing baby boy is really starting to move, but I’m not sure if it’s really noticeable to outsiders yet…I know I feel him moving – especially after ice cream! – and it’s getting fun!

Here’s what Baby Center says for week 23:

And now that he’s more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby’s increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won’t faze him when he hears them outside the womb.
So I ended up buying new shoes yesterday – slip on shoes that is! I was having a hard time getting my regular shoes tightened and tied, and when I played with my friend, Amanda, yesterday and saw her slip on shoes, I decided that’s what I needed too. So, I got some – and I can put them on without a struggle! YAY!!!!

The office is half clean so we’re getting closer to switching the kids room – they are so excited. I can’t wait to get more organized and have everything in its place. I’ve been getting rid of things we do not use and throwing away things we don’t need anymore. We noticed after we moved into our new place that we still feel overcrowded because of all the junk we have. So, we’re slowly getting through it. We’re saving up to buy new couches so I will be excited about that – we have a lot of ‘wants’ on our list to do so I’ll keep this posted as we do things. Can you say “nesting”?

Week 22
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 kid's stories | icon4 04 7th, 2010| icon31 Comment »

So I noticed 2 days ago that I am losing the sight of my toes. I can see my big toes up to the beds of my toe nails. I feel like I just barely realized I was getting fat a month ago and then all of the sudden I’m big! I’m getting the feeling this little boy is going to act like Spencer did – stretching out as far as he could, and he also sat on one side making my tummy look crooked. My hips/pelvic are also starting to feel different – I’m guessing my hips are starting to stretch preparing for labor…I’m afraid I’m going to start waddling soon.  Okay – enough of my self-pity party. lol

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he’s even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you’d be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he’ll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.
