Oh yeah…I have 1 person to buy for, and 2 to pick up from the stores (ordered online)
2. Tell me about one of your special traditions.
We always started with the youngest and went to the oldest, each picking a favorite Christmas song to sing, and leaving my mom (not the oldest) to pick “Silent Night” as the last song. We’ve been spending Christmas Eve with Steve’s family the past few years and they don’t sing. 🙁
3. When do you put up your tree?
We buy a real tree (our new tradition) 2-3 weeks before Christmas (we did it right after Thanksgiving once…I wasn’t very good at keeping water in the base, so it lost needles like crazy!).
4. Are you a Black Friday shopper?
This was my first year. It wasn’t too bad, although I drove all the way up to Cedar Hills to go with my SIL but never ended up seeing her…I shopped alone. I will not be going anywhere but around my home next time.
5. Do you travel at Christmas or stay home?
Both. This year we’re doing our own Christmas on Christmas Eve before heading up to Steve’s parents. We have so much fun sleeping over (staying up playing games) and then being there Christmas morning. Then we’ll drive to my sister’s house for the Luke side of giving.
6. What is your funniest Christmas memory?
I don’t have one, because we seemed to do it every year…My brother, Matt, and I would sneak into my mom and dad’s closet to peak at our gifts…they hid them the same place every year…sometimes we unwrapped them “carefully” and took a look.
I love Home Alone – that’s what I was watching the first time I heard “O Holy Night” and it immediately became my favorite song. Mr Krueger’s Christmas is great too.
8. Do you do your own Christmas baking?
I’ve never been in charge personally, but one year I’m sure my time will come.
9. Fake or real tree?
Steve and I decided we wanted to start our family tradition of a real one since neither of us did growing up.
10. What day does the actual panic set in to get it all done?
it doesn’t.
11. Are you still wrapping presents on Christmas Eve?
sometimes, but not typically.
the excitement of the kids after each gift. they want everything opened right away to start playing.
13. What Christmas craft do you like the best?
I have fun making decorations or neighbor gifts.
14. Christmas music, yes or no? And if yes, what is your favorite song?
As long as it’s AFTER Thanksgiving – YES! My favorite spiritual song is “O Holy Night”. Fun song is “Baby it’s cold outside”
15. When do you plan to finish all of your shopping?
this weekend.

I am so proud of Spencer and all he’s learning in his preschool – Little Readers Preschool – and I love how excited he is every time he learns something new. AND he’s much more open about what he’ll show me he knows. He’s usually too shy but it’s helped him out a lot. Steve and Spencer love doing letter games and it’s really been fun watching them do it together.
Spencer wrote the word “HAT” on my dry erase board. I told him he can make it a new word by changing the first letter. After HAT came FAT and then CAT. I’m impressed by how much he remembers AND how great his penmanship is.
He’s also found other creative ways to show me what letters he learned. (pipe cleaner) Sorry it’s upside down
These were there “O” necklaces. (Again, sorry they’re upside down)
Spencer also wanted to write his Christmas list to Santa by himself. He asked me how to spell certain toys and I’d tell him one letter at a time. I think he did SO good.
Spencer I am so proud of you!
