I just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! It seemed to sneak up on me pretty fast (which mean sooner than later I can start listening to Christmas music) but I’m very glad it’s here. Here’s my SHORT list of the things I’m grateful for:
My sweet hubby, Steve, who is my bestest friend ever.
My awesome kids who always keep me busy and entertained and continue to teach me and show me things about myself I never knew.
My family – parents (birth and in-lawed), siblings (and in-lawed), extended family and those of you whom I’ve adopted as my family.
My friends – some of you’ve have been my friends since childhood, others more recently, but no matter how long I’ve known you, you mean a great deal to me (and my sanity!). I have way too many memories to even begin listing so I want each of you to know how much I love you.
My Heavenly Father – obviously He’s number one on my list and I would never be able to thank Him enough for everything that I have. Most importantly I want to thank Him for my life, my family, the true Gospel, the blessings I’ve received and for those I love, for our country and the freedom we have, etc etc etc! Way too much to list – and more than I will ever realize!
My testimony – I am so thankful for the Gospel and for the blessings it brings me. I am thankful that Steve and I are sealed to each other for eternity and that death isn’t the end of us. I’m thankful I will be with my family in the next life. I’m grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave His life so that we can return to our Heavenly Father after we leave this Earth. I’m grateful for Joseph Smith and all of those who fought and continually fight for the Gospel. I’m grateful for our prophet, President Monson, who guides us today and talks with our Heavenly Father to teach us how to be more Christlike.ย I’m grateful for my calling in the Primary so I can teach and be taught by children and their testimonies. They are such special kids and will be great leaders and examples in the future. Most are now. I’m grateful for the other women (and men) that I get to work with in the Primary every week. You women (and men) have such a great spirit and love for the kids that I really look up to. Your testimonies are so special and I really hope I’ll be able to continue to work with the children and help my testimony grow more and more. I’m grateful that I can feel the love of our Father in Heaven and that I know I am His daughter and that He is always mindful of me.
I’m thankful for my talents. I love working with the computer and graphics programs, with design and structure, and being able to teach others how to use the tools to do it too. I love reading and am grateful that there are people out there with such wonderful talents to write and help our imaginations create the stories as we see them. I’m grateful to those of you who will take the time and have the patience to teach others, especially our children – I don’t think we can thank teachers enough. Or the service men & women who help us daily by keeping us safe and those who are fighting for freedom. Freedom does not come free –
I’m grateful for the soldiers, for their friends and families, for anyone who supports them (and not necessarily the war, but just supporting the soldiers), and for their faith.
Well, that was supposed to be a short list but I seemed to be on a soap box for a bit. It was longer than I wanted – especially since this is on a blog and I know how long it’ll take to read it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
