Pretty simple but I loved all of the pictures! I couldn’t help but do a two-spread of it! These were back in 2004 in our first apartment. What goofy pictures!
So, it’s been nearly 5 1/2 years since Steve’s and my story started. I was so occupied with him while we were dating and engaged that I hardly wrote in my journal and I know I’ve forgotten a lot of details. I wanted to do some sort of page to put in my scrapbook of our story, plus a picture of the engagement ring in the really cool box. You won’t be able to read ‘our story’ because of the size of the file and the size of the font, but here it is anyway! ๐
We were so glad to hear that Shadow was having a reception here in Utah. We told as many as we could from good ol’ Choctaw so we could have a mini-Choctaw-Pow-Wow. I’m not sure who all came, but we Lukes went together. It was so good seeing Charlie and Shadow! We sure do love the Sherwoods and were saddened to hear about sweet Liz. I was glad to hear that she was able to help Shadow plan for the wedding even though she passed away 2 weeks before it. ๐ My parents were able to attend the funeral and the wedding in Kansas. That’s why we’re glad they had a reception here as well. Charlie seemed much like the same old Charlie we all remembered growing up. We all look up to him. Annette and Mike had many more memories with him than I did but believe me – I couldn’t forget him…ever. ๐
Shadow looked beautiful! Evie kept saying “Princess!” and pointed at her in her wedding dress. I asked, “Is the princess pretty?” and Evie shook her head ‘yes’. How cute!
We took a few pictures of us Choctaw-ians. The group picture might look a little funny because another person was standing next to Shadow’s new husband (I can’t remember his name – but he’s one smart kid!) and I tried Photoshopping her out to get it to be just us. ๐ Enjoy
We are so excited that it’s football time again – and wow! BYU has not disappointed us yet. Seriously – 2 (Yes, that’s TWO) back-to-back shutouts so far (we’re hoping for a 3rd in a week and a half!). We are lucky enough to go to Mike and Nicole’s to watch it on tv since we couldn’t afford tickets this year and do not receive it on DISH. Here are a few pics from our BYU time with our family. Gavin is such a cutie! So are my kids! Evie is sporting a new hair style (flat ironed – her request) and Spencer’s picture is my new favorite. He really is a cutie just like his dad! And I hope I didn’t mess up Annette’s picture – the flash reflected in her glasses so I tried getting rid of it. GO COUGARS!
Last week we planned a Playgroup lunch at Bridal Veil Falls. Unfortunately, Leona didn’t come due to truck troubles and Rosanne showed up but didn’t see us through the tall weeds and turned around to go home. Luckily, Aimee and I were still able to get together. ๐ Cameron, Kaylee (sorry Aims if I misspelled her name!), Spencer, Evie, and the two of us had lunch at a picnic table not too far from the falls. It started to rain a bit, but not enough to make us leave. The kids loved running down the hill (we kept telling them to slow down in fear of them face planting it). They climbed rocks, skipped rocks, road bikes, and just enjoyed the outdoors. Here are a few pics:
I found this off of Jana’s blog (thanks babe!) and thought it was interesting.

You master any and all skills easily. You don’t have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you’ll knock down anyone who gets in your way! You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It’s easy to get you excited… which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don’t stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow. You are light hearted and accepting. You don’t get worked up easily. Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is. You are a free spirit, and you resent anyone who tries to fence you in. You are unpredictable, adventurous, and always a little surprising. You may miss out by not settling down, but you’re too busy having fun to care. |

![]() You are the total package – suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don’t always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don’t have as much going for them as you do. You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless – and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You’re most comfortable when you’re far away from home. Occasionally, you do get a little selfish and persuade people to do things that are only in your interest. You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you… especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You’re a strong person. You are very intuitive and wise. So, Evie, who is her own woman, has made me laugh a lot lately. She will take what you say and mix it with the phrases she’s been saying for a looooong time. I was looking at soccer pictures of my nieces and nephew and Evie said “dancing?”
I said, “No – he’s playing soccer”
She repeats “Soccer?”
I said “Yes – soccer.”
So she says “Go away sucker”
(the go away is from The Little Mermaid)
I tried getting her to say “soccer” but she just repeats “Go away sucker”
Oh dear.
So, last night I decided to catch up on those yearly scrapbook pages I do for my kiddos. Since Evie will be turning two next month (AH!) I wanted to finish up her “2nd Year” page. To show how much she has changed, I’ll put her first year and second year up for you to see. Can’t believe she’s growing up so fast!
