Steve and the kids spent Saturday outside while I “enjoyed” being sick inside. I kept the door open and pulled up a chair whenever Steve needed to get something done or go somewhere so I could keep an eye on the kids. Sweet Evie had more fun than I could say…and here’s the proof!
So earlier last week Evie started crying in the middle of the night. I yelled out “Go ni-ni” like I normally do. A few minutes later, she cried again. After the 3rd time, I got up to see what the matter was and as soon as I stepped into their room I could smell throw up. Yuck. We cleaned her up, took apart her bedding and threw it in the washer. I laid down with Evie while Steve was doing the laundry and “blah” – she threw up on me. Not nice. The next day, they both had a doctor’s appointment. As soon as we walked into the doctor’s office, Spencer says “Mommy – look what Evie’s doing.” And yes, she threw up again.
I ended up getting sick Friday night. I never threw up but my stomache felt like there was a balloon constantly filling up and putting a ton of pressure on me. I also felt light headed and weak. Plus, to say it nicely, I needed to stay very close to the bathroom.
Saturday night, Spencer fell asleep around 9 and Evie fell asleep shortly after. We were so excited for the kids to be asleep and us tired enough to fall asleep early. I read until midnight then I heard Spencer wake up. He wanted “dinner” but I told him I wasn’t going to cook anything so he could have crackers. He fell asleep before he ate anything. Evie woke up a bit later and after 15 minutes I just brought her to bed with me. Spencer, at some point, woke up and joined us too. So, from midnight to 5:30 am I was constantly woken up by one of the two. At 5:30 I woke up to Spencer crying because he threw up and IN MY HAIR too! We cleaned him up, put Evie back in her crib, and I leaned over the bath to wash my hair. Our sheets were gross so we ended up on the couch. Spencer was awake and on the couch with me so I put a movie on and tried to sleep. That didn’t happen until 8 when I told Spencer I was going back to my bed. Ten minutes later, Evie woke up. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep. Spencer has since thrown up twice more. Ick.
Evie is so funny. She has a new quirk…I think it started a week ago. She LOVES putting things in her shirt and watches them fall out. I have NO idea where it came from either. I finally got a few pictures of her doing it. She is now running around the living room with 3 or 4 fingernail polishes in her shirt and says “uh oh” when they fall out. How odd!
So, I think my children are just adorable. Spencer is bouncing around the room singing “Book of Mormon Stories” when he doesn’t even sing in nursery…I would know….Steve and I subed for nursery last Sunday and I was in charge of singing in all 3 classes and Spencer just sat there. But, it’s cute to see how much he’s remembering.
Evie, on the other hand, has only been to nursery 3 times and can do almost all of the motions to “Popcorn Popping.” She’s adorable! I think she’s going to be very into singing and dancing as she grows up.
I love that my kids love nursery. We have some really great teachers and I’m so grateful that they love my kids too! (Plus Steve and I get to be together during Sunday School!) YIPPIE!
So, I’m not a very good fruit person. Oranges take too long to peel, Apples taste better with caramel, bananas are just gross, and strawberries have too many seeds. Well, I’ve learned to adapt my ‘pickiness’ with strawberries and now I can’t get enough (but WHY did it have to happen at the end of strawberry season?) My solution?…
CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!
I was resting on the couch after a not-so-nice night with Evie and when I woke up and saw Spencer playing with colored pencils and markers (which I had hidden in a cubby in my room). I asked him if he ever opened the markers and he said no. Spencer is usually pretty honest with me so I trusted him…that is, until I saw the bathroom floor!!! (By the way, HOW did I miss the blue marker ALL over his face?) Right before I started his bath I asked him to stand next to the marker so I could take a picture. I wonder if my “scrapbookers mind” is sending him mixed signals…’coloring on the floor is bad, but mommy wants to scrapbook it.’
Naughty, but darn cute!
I just wanted everyone to know what a fantastic husband I have. Steve really is amazing and has so many wonderful qualities about him.
I love that we are best friends and still have a ton of fun together. I love watching movies with him every night before bed, even if the sleep is only set for 20 minutes. I love that we hold hands in the car. I love that he kisses me before he leaves and that he always says “I love you too” before we hang up…sometimes before I even get a chance to say “I love you” first. I love his teasing nature. I love when he grabs me for a hug as I’m walking past (even though most of the time I’m in the middle of doing something and, in the moment, thinks he should wait…it still shows me how much he loves me. I love his patience and understanding. I love his encouragement in my hobbies. I love that he buys whatever computer software/hardware that I need to make me happy…”More hard drive space!”. I love when he rubs my shoulders. I love that we can play games together and make sure that we’re not “being nice” (cause when it comes to games…there’s no being nice!). I love that he “taxes” the chocolate milk he makes me, just because he knows I love it and can’t turn it down. I love that he teaches me knew things every time we cook together. I love that he gets the mail every day since I’m usually too lazy to walk to the mailbox (sad, I know). I love when he makes sure our feet are at least touching when we fall asleep. I love that he still thinks I’m attractive, even though I don’t think I am. I love that he will talk in Italian because I can’t understand, especially when he talks about me. I love that he works so hard to keep our lives comfy and that he studies so hard to make our future stable. I love what a wonderful and fun daddy he is to our little rugrats. I love that he gets tackled by Spencer and Evie every time he walks through the door and enjoys every minute of it. I love that Sunday mornings usually begin with a wrestling match on the bed (I’m usually the spectator). I love his example of serving others, even when a ‘thanks’ is not returned. I love his testimony of our Savior and of the Gospel. I love the sacrifices he makes for me and our children. I love his knowledge and his logical thinking. I love when he teases me by telling me what he learned in his math or computer classes right as we’re laying down for bed (I don’t want to think before I fall asleep!) I love how he respects his parents. I love how he refuses to let our children disrespect me…and how he’ll refuse to let them when they’re older. I love when he falls asleep watching a movie or show. I love when I have the blankets pulled up to my chin, he has kicked everything off and onto me so I stay warm.
I love my wonderful, brilliant, sweet, handsome, funny, terrific, loving husband and best friend, Stephen.
Here you go guys….a link to the Twilight teaser. I’m starting to get excited…even though I’m not too pleased with “Cedric” being MY Edward. Anywho…here it is:
YAY!
