We had so much fun at the Stadium of Fire with Aunt Coley! We had a rough night the previous night so we missed the Hot Air balloons and the Parade but we made it to Annette & Joel’s for a little lunch and some time playing the Wii with the family. We followed Mike and Nicole to a hotel that her family rented and went swimming. Evie did great! Spencer, on the other hand, was shivering because the water was too cold so he sat on the side and kicked water at us. He played in the water for a little while…but he was pretty distracted from the Uncle Mikey shark! As we were getting changed, Aunt Coley, Spencer and Uncle Mikey decided to jump on the beds! Spencer thought it was so cool that they did it with him! We had pizza with Nicole’s family and then left Mike and Steve on the curb as Nicole, Spencer, Evie and I went inside the stadium. We had really good seats and luckily we were in the shade! Evie fell asleep as we watched the pre-show…dancers, the RocketMan (boy was that loud!), and a presenting of the flags and the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Military. I left to feed Evie (after she woke up, of course) and as I came back Corbin Blu was finishing his performance. Spencer just fell asleep on Nicole! Brooks and Dunn did their concert and Spencer slept through the whole thing! Then the fireworks began! The kids loved it! They had Disney music and Patriotic music, and even a choir. Evie got tired at the very end but stayed awake long enough for the finale. I enjoyed the whole thing! Steve and Mike said the fireworks were really great watching them from outside the stadium as well.
I was watching So You Think You Can Dance and Evie LOVES it! She watched it at Uncle Mikey and Aunt Coley’s once too. It makes me wonder if she’ll want to dance when she’s older. Some times I wish I would have done something like dancing or gymnastics when I was younger but I did basketball instead. Anywho – just a thought.
Well, I now have 3 callings! (I should have hidden in Nursery like Steve does!!!) Today I was called to be in Achievement Days with the 8-11 year old girls. I’m pretty excited because Annette is in the same calling in her ward and I’ve been helping her get ideas for upcoming activities. SO, this should be fun! I also had my first meeting today as a Visiting Teaching supervisor (they got the calling wrong at the beginning…asked if I’d be the coordinator. Supervisor is less stressful!). AND, at the moment I’m still the Playgroup Specialist. SO, hopefully I won’t feel overwhelmed but I think they’re considering releasing me from Playgroup. That’s fine too…I’ll still help if they want me to. I’m excited for the Achievement Days though – I always thought it’d be fun being with the younger girls and maybe one day in Young Womens. I had this calling right after Steve and I were married so I wasn’t thrilled about it right then but I am now. So…yeah. That’s my new calling!
