39 week doc appointment
icon1 memilyrae | icon2 Thoughts | icon4 08 5th, 2010| icon31 Comment »

It’s my last prenatal appointment and we’re down to 5 days. I am so ready to have my baby…I’ll get to sleep on my back, not hurt when I change positions in bed, not have to stand for 10 seconds before taking my first steps to see if my pelvic pain is going to strike, see my feet again (yay!), and not worry about losing my pants as I walk up the stairs! Lol

So far little guy has been very active this morning…especially with all the noise of the other doc office under construction. My weight gain is ok and my blood pressure is high again…at least 2 weeks in a row…but they’re not too worried about it so neither am I! :) I am “almost to a 2″ so at least that’s an improvement!

I was able to have lunch with Steve – which was nice (thanks Annette) since this will be one of the last times we’ll have “alone time” for a while  - and tonight we’re looking forward to movie night at home with the kiddos. Honestly, I’m looking forward to when this baby comes, for more reasons than my selfish rants above, to having a new baby in our home, to seeing Evie and Spencer interact with him, and to have Steve home with us for a week.

Steve’s new girlfriend

A girl in my ward (13) asked me why I dyed my hair to blond…my response: “Steve said he wanted to date a blond so I figured I’d better do it or he’d find someone else!” Not sure if the 13 year old appreciated the humor as much as I did.

But, it’s true…I went blond and short again…I’ve been feeling very frumpy… I haven’t been “blond” since high school and right after into some of the college/single years. I was brunette before I met Steve so he has never known me with blond hair. I knew he wanted to see it sometime so I figured while he was away on business that I’d do it and surprise him.

My friend, Cami, does my hair. I had her cut it (A-line) and then came back for a color. I’m starting to get used to it…not getting taken back by the blond looking at me in the mirror…so it’s really starting to feel like it’s me again. LOL Here I am:

Okay – so I pretty much just copied and pasted this from the oh so fabulous Mod Podge Rocks blog. I LOVE THAT BLOG! She had an article on there from Becca (intro below) and I SO want to do this! Check out how cute it is!
**********************************************
Hey Mod Podgers! I’m Becca from Blue Cricket Design and I’m super happy to be here today! Mod Podge definitely Rocks but not nearly as much as Amy and her awesome blog! Both are two of my favorites!!! I’m thrilled to be able to come and play and show off my MP skills!

Are you guys ready for a little Halloween fun?

Introducing….

Halloween Hangy thingy-ma-bobs!!!

(a.k.a. Halloween Ornaments!)

Are they too much fun or what!!!!

I was introduced to paper-mache Christmas ornaments from my cousin! I thought to myself “Self! Wouldn’t these be perfect for any Holiday!?!” For sure!!

Some whimsical painting and Halloween colors make these little guys Spookerific!

Here’s the “How To” low down…

What you’ll need:

  • Those glass ornaments I’m sure you can find in your Christmas stash! If you need to go get some check your thrift stores first! I picked up a 24 pack for 50 cents!!! SCORE!
  • A newspaper
  • The magic Craft nectar MOD PODGE
  • Paint
  • Patience…the painting can take a while!
  • Wire for hanging
  • Beads for added touch!

1. Get your balls ready! (trying not to laugh over here!)

2. Take newspaper and rip it into thin strips. If you rip from the top of the page to the bottom, it rips super smooth and even. HINT: The thinner the strips, the smoother the paper will lay. Strips should be about 1/4″- 1/2″ thick.

    3. Mix 1 part water with 1 part Mod Podge! Enough to submerge your paper in.

    4. Dip each strip into the MP mixture being sure to get it completely wet. Using your fingers, wipe off excess mixture.

5. Start wrapping the wet paper strips onto the ornaments.

6. Continue wrapping paper strips and be sure to get the lip of the bulb that holds the top hanging thing.

7. Cover all of your ornaments completely.

8. Hang them to dry overnight!

Once they are completely dried you can start to get crazy and paint your heart out!

Get creative with your designs and patterns!

Add glitter and gems to add sparkle or cut out Halloween images from Scrapbook paper and MP them on! The possibilities are endless!

Add wire and beads if you plan on hanging them! I have mine hanging on door knobs and cupboard knobs throughout my house. You could also display them in a bowl or basket or jar just as they are!

Thanks for letting me share! Amy, you’re the best!

Okay, so I’m not sure if you’ve seen this yet, but it looks SO much better than Twilight! I’m so excited to see New Moon! Sadly, it was the book I disliked the most out of the 4 books, but I think I’m going to enjoy the movie. Ah!

1) Did you date someone from your school? I “dated” Tanner during my Senior year
2) What kind of car did you drive? ’98 Honda Civic
3) Did you pass your driver’s license test the first time? Yeah…but I chose to fail parallel parking since Oklahoma streets are not as spacious as streets in Utah and with a car parked on each side of the street and being in a boat of a car chose not to destroy two cars in the process.
4) Were you a party animal? Nope
5) Were you considered a flirt? Yes. Absolutely.
6) Were you in band, orchestra, or choir? Choir – which I loved cause I got to go to Disneyland with Tanner and Mauni and  Stacey and…EVERYONE!
7) Were you a nerd? Not THAT kind of a nerd but I am a nerd
8) Were you on any varsity teams? Nope
9) Did you ever get expended or expelled? I was ALMOST sent to the principals office (Thanks a lot Danny!) but I talked my way out of it.

13) What is your school’s full name? Choctaw High School and Springville High School
14) School mascot and colors: Yellow Jackets (Yellow and Blue) and Red Devils (Red and Blue)

16) If you could go back and do it again, would you? Nah….I have my journals and don’t regret anything. I am sad at some of the emotions I wasted (lack of self esteem, etc.)
17) What do you remember most about graduation? Singing and flirting from a distance with Tanner and laughing with Angie.
18)Who was your biggest crush in high school? I know he’s in a lot of my answers, but Tanner.

Rules:

Post the rules on your blog
List 6 random things about yourself.
Tag 6 people at the end of your post.
Let each person know they have been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

1. I can be called a half-started…or maybe and almost finisher… with most things in my life….mainly cleaning…or laundry….or filing. Or maybe you can just call it lazy, who knows! For example, my laundry will get cleaned, the towels might get folded, the kids clothes might get folded, but nothing gets put away…it stays on my couch or bed until it gets thrown on the floor or they all become dirty again.

2. I used to half a mole on my face – it was in the same spot as a certain celebrity…and I was nicknamed Madonna (only for the mole, not the boobs!)

3. I take pictures all the time – mostly with the thought “How can I scrapbook this?” in mind.

4. My left ribs stick out farther than my right ribs.

5. I love natural disasters – it’s so neat watching the force and power of a tornado or hurricane, and although I don’t like seeing people’s lives turned up-side-down or their lives taken, I love that it brings people together and they serve each other. Plus, it’s not a human with an evil heart hurting others.

6. I lie to Steve all the time! If he asks when I’m going to sleep, I’ll say “After I finish the chapter.” Usually 4-5 chapters later (or 3 in the morning) I’ll finally close the book and turn off my lamp. Sorry hun!

I tag:

1. Coley

2. Annette or Steph or Mom…or Lauren since she blogs more than you do!

3. Leona

4. Janel

5. Katie S

6. Susan
